Selsey Pavilion Archives: 1940-1949
PAVILION, SELSEY. Entertainment on Monday for three days is supplied by "A GIRL MUST LIVE," an engaging piece of fun in which Margaret Lockwood is seen as a young student who poses as the daughter of a former famous actress. Notwithstanding, the newcomer thwarts the plans of both Renee Houston and Lilli Palmer in their efforts to captivate an Earl, newly arrived from abroad. For the remainder of the week is presented "EASY MONEY," evolving comedy, romance and drama in four distinct episodes about football pool winners. Each story shows the various circumstances under which the winning pools cheque is received—by the middleclass family, the little henpecked city clerk, the dispirited musician, and the crooks who try to swindle the pool. Jack Warner, Greta Gynt and Dennis Price head a strong cast of favourites.
