500 ENTRIES SUCCESS. Excellent organisation, huge attendance and a great number of entries (over 500) contributed to the great success of the Selsey and district gymkhana, held at The Common Field, Selsey, on Wednesday. The weather was extremely favourable and the field, which had been hired through the kindness of Mr. L. P. Latham, was in good condition. Hundreds of spectators witnessed a fine display of riding and jumping, all the events going through without any hitch. There were one or two spills. P. Gardner was thrown when jumping, and hit his head against the jumping fence, but remounted amid applause and cleared the fence on the second jump. Miss Du Boulay was thrown during the last event, the potato race, and injured her ankle. The cups (of which there were 30) and other prizes were distributed by Mrs. Latham. The splendid organisation was due to the work of Messrs. W. J. Hobbs, R. J. Cripps, R. Field, and G. H. Bunn. The judges were Mrs. Warren, and Messrs. F. Phipps, T. Field, F. Gosden and C. J. Gordeev, and other officials were: Ring Master, Mr. A. Mitchell, assisted by Mr. A. Lee ; Hon. Medical Officer, Dr. Wooding ; Hon. Veterinary Surgeon, Mr. E. W. Garry, M.R.C.V.S.; and Hon.
