Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. "CALCUTTA" which opens at the Pavilion on Monday, stars Alan Ladd, Gail Russell and William Bendix. "MARGIE" which is presented on Thursday takes us back to the late 1920's to introduce us to a group of high school students. Their story is set in America, but the sentiments of youth are universal and here they are faithfully communicated. Margie has a crush on Professor Fontayne (Glenn Langan) and the story's events make her in turn the butt and the envy of her schoolfellows. Told to the nostalgic accompaniment of popular songs of the 20's, such as "Avalon," "I'll see you in my Dreams " and the title song. "Margie" is photographed in Technicolor which heightens the atmosphere and intensifies the film's appeal. The long cast includes—as well as Jeanne Crain—Glenn Langan, Lynn Bari, Alan Young, Barbara Lawrence, Conrad Janis, Esther Dale and Hobart Cavanaugh.
