Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. Victimised by their sadistic chief of prison guards (Hume Cronyn), a band of convicts headed by Burt Lancaster and Charles Bickford plan to break out of a United States penitentiary. How, inspired by the thought of their waiting girl friends, they put their plan into action forms the grim, fictitious plot of "BRUTE FORCE," a tale of the men on the "inside" which comes on Monday for three days. Thrown into the complex world of white man's civilisation in the river ports of the Amazon, a young outcast Indian (Sabu), married to a gentle Indian girl, meets final disaster in the shape of a murder charge. The two differing worlds—those of the white man and the native—cannot be reconciled, and the simple find peace only at "THE END OF THE RIVER "—showing Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
