FANCY DRESS DANCE.—A fancy dress dance, organized by the Crablands Park Tennis and Bowling Club, was held at the Pavilion on Thursday evening (5th inst.), there being a very good attendance. Unfortunately only a small proportion of the dancers were in fancy dress, but those were in modern topical dresses. Mr. S. Barnes, as Gandhi, was exceedingly good, and caused much merriment by parading complete with his goat. The prize-winners were: Ladies, Mrs. Winslade (Irish Sweepstake) and Miss Maidment (Mephistopheles); gentlemen. Mr. S. Barnes ( Gandhi), Mr. Smith (onion seller). Dancing was indulged in till 2 a.m. to music supplied by the Sky Bohemian Band.
