PAVILION, SELSEY. "THE MIRACLE OF FATIMA" (Sunday and Monday), is a dramatic film of the miracle which occurred 35 years ago in a little Portuguese town. The story concerns three little shepherd children who in 1917 reported that a vision had appeared before them and had foretold the coming of events which were to later shape the destiny of the world. Shortly afterwards, a series of miracles occurred at Fatima which gained international attention. Alan Ladd and Virginia Mayo star in "THE IRON MISTRESS" (Tuesday and Wednesday) a romantic adventure, in Technicolor, set in the early 1800's. The story is of a backwoods lad from the swamp of Louisiana who comes to New Orleans where he falls in love with a Creole belle. Amid the glittering elegance of the old city, Jim Bowie, as he is played by Ladd, becomes a polished gentleman who must fight with rapier as well as his fists to compete with the town's cutthroats. He develops a weapon of his own— the Bowie knife—and it is with this iron mistress that he evens matters with one particular band of accomplished swordsmen. Errol Flynn stars in "THE MASTER OF BALLANTRAE" (Thursday and Saturday), based on Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel, about the adventures of a Highland nobleman. The film was photographed in Technicolor on locations in Cornwall, in the hills of Scotland and in Palermo, the colourful Mediterranean seaport. Beatrice Campbell, Anthony Steel, Roger Livesev also star. The cinema will be closed on Good Friday.
