Pantomime. The S.C.A.M.P.S (Selsey Musical and Comedy Society) are giving a performance of their very successful pantomime "The House That Jack Built" tomorrow (Saturday) before an audience of doctors. The company always enjoys this particular performance because they find the audience at the hospital a most receptive and rewarding one, even though it entails a great deal of hard work transporting all the scenery and costumes. They will travel to Graylingwell with the official congratulations of the Chairman of Selsey Parish Council, Miss Hilda Petts, ringing in their ears. She said publicly at last Monday's meeting that she felt the young people responsible for the production and who had worked so hard deserved a great deal of praise. Instead of sitting by the fire at home and watching television they had spent months rehearsing night after night and she felt it was a wonderful contribution to the life of the community which deserved the Council's commendation. I personally thought that it was a little disappointing that this outstanding production had not received 100 per cent support from the village, the sale of tickets only being average at 66 per cent. As usual the first three performances were not well attended, although the rest had almost full houses.
