‍Small Hall Nears Completion

The Small Hall is beginning to look like a finished community space. Decorating is complete, the kitchenette has been installed, and electrical works are almost finished. Flooring, plumbing and the final finishing touches are now underway as we work towards an anticipated opening in mid-August.

Connecting with the Community

June was a busy month for outreach. Trustees attended heritage events, including the Valuing Seaside Heritage Symposium at Saltdean Lido, shared restoration updates with Selsey U3A, and are looking forward to meeting residents at Selsey Lifeboat Day on 2 August.

Celebrating Local Heritage

This month marks the beginning of a new series exploring the history of S.C.A.M.P.S. (Selsey Comedy and Musical Productions Society), which was founded in 1950 and became renowned for its much-loved pantomimes at the Pavilion. Thanks to generous donations of memorabilia, we're uncovering more of this fascinating local story.

We're also grateful to Selsey U3A for sponsoring the conservation of two historic S.C.A.M.P.S. pantomime posters, helping preserve an important part of the Pavilion's heritage for future generations.

Glancing Backwards

This month's historical feature looks back to 1936, when preparations were underway for Selsey's annual Carnival and the town selected its very first Carnival Queen.
