September has been a busy and exciting month for the Selsey Pavilion Trust, with plenty of progress to share and a few milestones worth celebrating!

Film Project Success

The Selsey Academy Film Project continues to shine, now surpassing 13,000 views online. This shows just how much interest there is in our local stories and heritage — and the numbers are still climbing!

Welcome to our New Trustees

We’re delighted to welcome two new trustees to the Pavilion Trust.

  • Allen Taylor brings a wealth of experience as a professional musician and projectionist, with years of service at Duxford Aerodrome’s Astra Cinema. His knowledge of vintage film projection is a fantastic addition to our team.
  • Daniel Bowring is a versatile theatre and film director, educator, and researcher, with a strong background in community engagement. He has already begun work on a community survey to help shape the Pavilion’s future.

Both Allen and Daniel bring valuable skills and fresh perspectives as we continue restoring and reimagining the Pavilion.

Cinema Screen Returns

For the first time since the 1970s, a cinema screen has been installed at the Pavilion. While we are not quite ready for full-feature screenings just yet, this is a big step towards bringing cinema back to the heart of Selsey.

Selsey at War Exhibition

In August, we welcomed over 300 visitors in just two days to the Selsey at War exhibition, commemorating the 80th anniversary of V.J. Day. It was wonderful to see so much community interest in the Pavilion’s wartime role and in Selsey’s rich local history.

Looking Ahead

Next month marks a very special milestone — the 50th edition of our newsletter. From small beginnings in 2020, our updates have grown to reach a wide and supportive audience.

Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support the Pavilion, whether by visiting events, donating, or simply spreading the word. With your help, we are edging closer to 700 newsletter subscribers by Christmas —can you help us get there?
