PAVILION, SELSEY. "RIVER OF NO RETURN" is Robert Mitchum's first film In Cinema Scope. He stars with Marilyn Monroe and Rory Calhoun in a Technicolor adventure set in the Great North West of 1875. Marilyn Monroe portrays a saloon singer married to a good-for-nothing gambler (Calhoun). When Mitchum appears on the scene as a strong, handsome widower, a romantic triangle develops. To complicate matters, Indians threaten to attack and the only way to escape is by tackling dangerous rapids on a raft. "HEIDI AND PETER " relates the further adventure of " Heidi," the famous Lazar Wechsler production that scored so sensational a triumph on the international screen two years ago. The film was shot in the Swiss Alps, and the majestic beauty of the picturesque landscape forms a glorious backcloth to the adventures of Johanna Sypri's famous characters. Showing the hilarious complications that occur when a prominent civil servant and a naval officer swap identities, "CARRY ON ADMIRAL" stars David Tomlinson. "KILL ME TOMORROW" stars Pat O'Brien, Lois Maxwell and George Coulouris. Tommy Steele, the rock 'n' roll singer, also appears. An out of work newspaper reporter is faced with an agonizing dilemma. His son is going blind, and at least £1,000 is needed for the operation that will save his sight. In order to raise the sum, the journalist confesses to a murder committed by an underworld thug.
