Film Preview – Bognor Regis Observer – Saturday, 25 January 1947
Transcript:

PAVILION, SELSEY. A thoroughly enjoyable film, steeped in the nostalgic atmosphere of the Gay Nineties and filled with tuneful songs of a past generation, comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, on Monday. It is Pathe-Monogram's "SUNBONNET SUE." Produced on a lavish scale, the film pictures an interesting period of American life and qualifies throughout as superlative entertainment. Gale Storm and Phil Regan are co-starred, and both are excellent in their roles as young lovers beset by difficulties. In addition to playing their roles with conviction, each sings pleasingly the popular songs of the period. In bringing his version of the childhood classic, "WONDERFUL ADVENTURES OF PINOCCHIO," to the screen, Walt Disney happily combines in this full-length feature the most outstanding characteristics of the original book with the unique appeal which the world audiences have come to look for in every Disney character. The film appears on Thursday.
