Charity Concert – Bognor Regis Observer – Wednesday, 28 February 1917

SELSEY. Concert for Charity. With the object of raising funds in aid of the British Farmers Red Cross Fund, etc., in conjunction with the Great Gift Sale Chichester next Wednesday Selsey made a good start Monday of last week with a concert by the" Freeandeeses" in the Cinema, the result being the raising of £24 18s 3d, the whole the proceeds ; the expenses being defrayed by the organizers, namely. Sir Archibald Hamilton. Bart, Mr C. Wakely, Mr C. Rusbridge and Mr. J. Clayton. Thanks are due to Mr. Blackman and his merry party , “The Freeandeeses." for so kindly giving his services. The entertainment provided was one which has been seldom, if ever, equalled at Selsey, though many excellent entertainments and clever artistes have from time to time appeared at the Cinema. Every item of which was so thoroughly appreciated that it is hoped Mr. Blackman's first visit to Selsey will soon be repeated.
