DR. BARNARDO’S HOMES. ENTERTAINMENTS AT CHICHESTER AND SELSEY. Patriotic musical demonstrations were given at the Chichester Assembly Rooms on Thursday, and at the Cinema Hall, Selsey, on Friday. At the performances given at Selsey on Friday, the chair was kindly taken in the afternoon by Sir Archibald Hamilton, Bart., Lieut. National Reserve, and Hon. Recruiting Officer, Selsey and District, and in the evening by the Rector (the Rev. K. H. MacDermott). It is understood that the receipts at Selsey substantially exceeded those of Chichester, due in some measure to the fact that the expenses at Selsey were generously met by Sir Archibald Hamilton. The recent house to house collection in Chichester resulted in the sum of £18 1s. being collected, and a cheque for this amount has been sent to the Secretary at Stepney Causeway. London, Warm thanks are due to the collectors and to the contributors. The collection was organized by Miss Timson. N.B. A long account of the event in Chichester was edited out.
