WHIST DRIVE.—The Selsey Branch of the British Legion held a very successful whist drive at the Pavilion on Thursday (26th inst.). in aid of their funds, there being thirty-eight tables. Major Lamb acted as M. C., and Mrs. E. Walker presented prizes to the following: Ladies— Mrs. Norris, Mrs. Lintott, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Habin, Mrs. Dudeney, Miss G. McDonald, Mrs. Nicholls, Mrs. H. Williams. Highest half, Mrs Lambert and Miss Norris. Consolation prize, Mrs. Ayling. Gentlemen—Messrs. J. A. Fletcher. E. Terry, J. Downer, W. Morey, W. Long, P. Blackman, Mrs. C. Terry (playing as gentleman), Mr. Robinson. Highest half, Mr. J. Saunders and Mr. D. Hunnisett. Consolation, Mr. V Combes. Mr. F. Simpson (Vice-Chairman), in a speech at half-time, thanked the donors of prizes and those who had assisted.
