PAVILION, SELSEY. THE Royal Command performance film, "WHERE NO VULTURES FLY," comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, at the end of next week. Starring Anthony Steel, Dinah Sheridan and Harold Warrender, the film is outstanding for its brilliant photography in Technicolor. Shots of wild game and animals, charging elephants and rhinoceri are nothing short of amazing. The story tells how a game warden starts a national park for animals in Africa. His scheme is to have a safe sanctuary for the animals to live in peace without fear of being hunted. However, a Mr. Mannering, who is accepted as a wild life photographer, turns out to be a full scale poacher and does everything possible to wreck the national park scheme. For the beginning of the week, the accent is on music and colour when "CALL ME MISTER " is the attraction. starring Betty Grable, Dan Dailey, Danny Thomas and Dale Robertson. The setting for the film is Occupied Japan, where Betty goes to entertain troops. There she meets her estranged husband (Dan Dailey) whose eye for a pretty girl and whose wayward ways have brought about the separation. He wants to have another try to make their marriage a success, but his wife does not trust him. Meanwhile, a captain of the regiment becomes attracted to Betty and they go out together. From this romantic tangle the film, with a background of numerous songs and spectacular scenes, provides good entertainment.
