PAVILION, SELSEY. TENSE drama comes to the Pavilion, Selsey, for the first part of next week when Patricia Neal, John Garfield and Phyllis Thaxter star in "THE BREAKING POINT." John Garfield, as a rugged independent fishing boat skipper just home from the war, is struggling to keep payments on his mortgaged craft. Phyllis Thaxter, his homely wife and mother of two little girls, isn't finding it too easy making ends meet. And into this situation comes a beautiful playgirl, in the form of Patricia Neal, and a shady lawyer with a proposition for making easy money. And with them comes trouble. John Garfield and Phyllis Thaxter are on top of their form in these roles and the story builds up to a fine climax. Pat Neal's performance is excellent. For the rest of the week. screen comedian No. 1, Danny Kaye, stars with Gene Tierney and Corinne Calvet in "ON THE RIVIERA." Danny is in irresistible form, playing a dual role, that of an American cabaret artist and a famous and popular French pilot. The complications which ensue when the American is hired to impersonate the Frenchman are riotously funny, especially as the pilot's wife is the alluring Gene Tierney. Corinne Calvet gives a vivacious performance as the cabaret artist's fiancee and partner.
