Charity Show – Chichester Observer – Wednesday, 17 November 1915
Transcript:

FOR THE MOTOR AMBULANCE FUND. On Tuesday last the proprietors of the Selsey Cinema Hall kindly gave an entertainment on behalf of the £30,000 Motor Ambulance Fund which is being raised by picture theatres all over the country. I was requested to return thanks to all those who supported this effort in Selsey, Tuesday’s performance, and in doing so, I, through a slight misunderstanding, stated that the proceeds were for the Red Cross Society, and would be given to a local organization supporting that society, I shall be grateful if you will kindly help me to rectify the mistake by inserting this letter. The proprietors of Selsey Cinema will fall into line with the other picture palaces, and devote the proceeds of their performance to the Motor Ambulance Fund. Yours truly, K. H. MacDemott.
