SELSEY. "IMPS" DANCE.—The Selsey branch of the Junior Conservative Imperial League held a Hallowe'en dance at the Pavilion on Friday, the 31st October, when there was a moderate attendance. Music was supplied by the Sky Bohemian Band from Tangmere Aerodrome. The winners of the spot prizes were Miss Green and Mr. Turner, and Miss Fox and Mr. Summers. POUND DAY.—The annual pound day on behalf of the Royal West Sussex Hospital was held on Saturday last, under the direction of Mrs. O. L. A. Bryan, in the Pavilion, which was kindly lent by Mr. Phipps. A good supply of various commodities was given by residents, which was kindly conveyed to the Hospital in the evening by Mr. L Maidment. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.—The monthly meeting took place at the Pavilion on Wednesday last, Mrs. Bailey presided. A very interesting lecture was given by the Rev. J. Louis Warne on House Influence, which was much appreciated. Tea was served, after which an excellent variety of entertainment was given under the direction of Miss E. Hunt. the artistes being Miss T. V Denman, Miss Austin, Mrs. R. Langford, Miss Jones, Miss Lamb. Miss J. Langton, Miss Chapman, Miss Slater, Miss Cowell and Mr. R. Woodford. The competition was to name advertisements after production of the various cartons or trade marks. The winners were : 1, Miss D. Godley: 2, Miss S. Arnell.
