PAVILION, SELSEY. WITH Rock Hudson and Piper Laurie heading the cast, "THE GOLDEN BLADE" brings to the screen the lull exotic grandeur of Bagdad in the most exciting days of its turbulent history. The film revolves around the legendary magic Sword of Damascus .... a sword said to make its rightful owner invincible in battle. Rock Hudson. as the fabulous avenger, Harun, sweeps through the film with dash and vigour. Making an ideal partner is the beautiful redhead, Piper Laurie, as a carefree princess surrounded by a scheming court. "MEET MR. LUCIFER.," is,the first satire to be made about the effect of television on the lives of viewers. Stanley Holloway gives a first-rate performance in the dual roles of a jaded panto star and Satan himself. In support is a star-studded cast including Peggy Cummins, Jack Watling, Barbara Murray, Joseph Tomelty and Kay Kendall, who all give great performances as the victims of "Mr. Lucifer." Three great performances by leading stars, a first-class dramatic story and a fine supporting cast are combined in "THE COUNTRY GIRL", starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and William Holden. The story concerns Frank Elgin (Bing Crosby), a once-great Broadway star who has taken to drink. When a big opportunity comes along for him in the form of a part in a Broadway show, he lacks the confidence to a accept it. Frank regains his self confidence and is finally set right by his director, Bernie Dodd (William Holden) and his wife, Georgie (Grace Kelly).
