Literary Society-Chichester Observer-Wednesday 26 November 1930
Transcript:

Literary Society. Mr. lan Hannah, E.S.A., gave a most interesting and instructive lecture on "The History of Sussex." Major Levin. F.R.A.S., was in the chair and over 50 members of the Society were present. The Roman occupation was the period about which Mr. Hannah spoke, and gave details regarding Chichester, Lewes, Pevensey, Cisabury and the Roman villa at Bignor. The country, he said, gained materially from the occupation and regretted the withdrawal of the Roman administration. Another lecture will be given on December 1st.
